Sarah Mthunzi
Executive Director & Founder
Sarah founded Tikondwere after witnessing the impact of education barriers on talented youth in Malawi. With 10 years of nonprofit experience and a Master's in Development Studies, she leads our organization with a vision of equitable education for all. Sarah has worked with organizations across Africa and is passionate about building sustainable, community-driven solutions.
James Banda
Operations Manager
James ensures Tikondwere operates efficiently and transparently. With 8 years in nonprofit management, he oversees our daily operations, donor relations, and program coordination. James is passionate about creating systems that allow us to scale impact while maintaining quality. He holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration.
Asante Chipeta
Finance & Partnerships Officer
Asante manages Tikondwere's finances with integrity and transparency. Her accounting background and attention to detail ensure every donor contribution (recorded in MWK) is tracked and used wisely. Asante works closely with our auditors and handles partnership agreements with other organizations. She's committed to financial accountability that builds donor trust.
David Nkhoma
Programs Director
David designs and implements our education, nutrition, and healthcare programs. With 7 years of experience in youth development and education, he ensures our programs are evidence-based and responsive to student needs. David regularly visits communities to understand challenges firsthand and collaborates with schools and local leaders.
Elizabeth Mkandawire
Community Liaison
Elizabeth is the heart of Tikondwere's community relationships. As our Community Liaison, she identifies students, builds trust with families, and ensures beneficiaries feel supported. Her deep knowledge of local communities and fluency in local languages make her invaluable. Elizabeth has worked in community development for 6 years and is from Lilongwe.
