Tikondwere means “Let’s celebrate” in Chichewa, a name that reflects joy, dignity, and shared hope. It’s more than a nonprofit; it’s a movement to uplift Malawian communities through education, safeguarding, and ethical storytelling

Creative Storytelling & Ethical Media explain
Tikondwere’s Community Business Support program assists parents and guardians in starting small businesses, enabling them to earn money to support their children and purchase essentials like school supplies, uniforms, and food.
The program provides training, advice, and sometimes startup assistance in the form of tools or initial capital. These businesses can range from farming and tailoring to selling goods in the market.
By helping families achieve greater financial stability, Tikondwere ensures that children remain in school and grow up in happier, more secure homes.
Tikondwere’s Education Sponsorship Program helps students in Malawi stay in school by paying their school fees directly to the schools. Each student and their guardian sign an agreement to make sure everyone understands their responsibilities.
Tikondwere also checks in regularly through Field Officers who visit schools to see how students are doing, both in class and in their overall well-being. If a student needs help, the program steps in to support them.
The goal is to make sure every child has a fair chance to learn, grow, and succeed without the stress of unpaid fees or being sent home from school.
Tikondwere works by combining transparent education sponsorship, safeguarding, and community business support to uplift vulnerable students and families in Malawi. Its projects span school fee payments, child protection, storytelling, and small business empowerment
Education Sponsorship Program
Tikondwere’s Creative Storytelling & Ethical Media project uses powerful stories to show the impact of its work while protecting the dignity of the people it serves.
The organization creates videos, photos, and written stories that highlight student journeys, community growth, and the joy of learning, always with permission and care. It avoids showing faces or personal details unless fully approved, and never uses suffering to attract attention.
This project also trains young people in media skills so they can share their own experiences in safe and respectful ways. The goal is to inspire support, build trust, and celebrate real progress, all while keeping students and families safe, proud, and respected.
